Burgweg Depot
The Burgweg depot has offices, workshops and stores for traffic control equipment (traffic lights, signs etc.) and highway maintenance. The total usable heated area is about 800 m².
Hannover - Wood pellet plant installed at works depot
In December 2007 the wood pellet plant at Hannover's Burgweg depot was commissioned, replacing an oil-fired plant and saving 185 t/a CO2, 82% of the previous emissions. The plant provides heating and hot water from a bivalent boiler with capacities of 200 kW pellet und 300 kW oil, whereby 90% of the heat comes from pellets and just10% from oil. The plant is also financially viable; since planning began in 2004 oil has doubled inprice, while the price of pellets has risen by a mere 10%.
