a two-room apartment of the Forges Residence

This 1,810 m² building was delivered in September 2007. It is the 1st part of a larger project consisting in renovating and extending the 'Port-Beaulieu' Hostel for Young Workers, to be completed by 2008.

The Forges Building is a social programme composed of :

  • 45 one- and two-rooms appartments
  • some collective rooms for common services

Concerning energy and thermal performances, here are the main measures that received the Concerto co-financing from the European Commission :

  • the envelop transmission coefficient and the energy consumptions are 30% more efficient than the French regulatory values
  • outer wall single cladding : wood / glass wool 10cm / wood
  • PVC frame windows with double glazing 4 /16(air) / 5 and low-E glass
  • roof insulated with 10 cm Polyurethane foam
  • basement insulation made of 6 cm PSE
  • space and DHW heating from the local district heating system (85% waste incineration / 15% oil)
